REPORT ON THE WORKSHOP OF CAREER COUNSELING & EXAMINATION MOTIVATION
ORGANISED BY
INDIANNICA LEARNING
Dated:04-01-2018
A career counseling & Examination Motivation session was conducted for the students of classes IX
and X by Indiannica Learning to dispel the doubts and qualms of students regarding their board
exams. Every student faces the question of what next after class 10 th and 12 th . They have to decide a
stream out of Humanities, Science, Commerce and Agriculture. Only for their career guidance he/she
has the opinion of their parents and teachers judgement based on marks and comments of their
friends and neighbours. It is such a point on which a career counsellor steps in and helps the child
sail through these turbulent times. On the other hand, every student needs to know regarding what
is the best procedure of giving the exam. Usually before exam in each and every institution teachers
explain all the procedure to the students to get good marks in the exam. If students follow the
instruction of the teachers, they will be fully benefitted in this field. In the present scenario, both
career counseling and examination motivation are necessary for the students.
REPORT ON ROBOTICS UTKRAANTI 18
ORGANIZED BY WINGFOTECH
IN ASSOCIATION WITH IIT KHARAGPUR :
Technology is used to develop machines that can substitute for humans. Robots can be used in any situation and
for any purpose, but today many are used in dangerous environments (including bomb detection and de-
activation), manufacturing processes, or where humans cannot survive. Robots can take on any form but some are
made to resemble humans in appearance. This is said to help in the acceptance of a robot in certain replicative
behaviors usually performed by people. Such robots attempt to replicate walking, lifting, speech, cognition, and
basically anything a human can do. Many of today's robots are inspired by nature, contributing to the field of bio-
inspired robotics.
The concept of creating machines that can operate autonomously dates back to classical times, but research into
the functionality and potential uses of robots did not grow substantially until the 20th century. Throughout
history, it has been frequently assumed that robots will one day be able to mimic human behavior and manage
tasks in a human-like fashion. Today, robotics is a rapidly growing field, as technological advances continue;
researching, designing, and building new robots serve various practical purposes,
whether domestically, commercially, or militarily. Many robots are built to do jobs that are hazardous to people
such as defusing bombs, finding survivors in unstable ruins, and exploring mines and shipwrecks. Robotics is also
used in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as a teaching aid. Besides these Robotics
will play a more vital role in our future generation.
Olivia Enlightened English School conducted a two days workshop and National Level Championship on
Robotics under the guidance Wingfotech on association with IIT Kharagpur dated 23 rd & 24 th December, 2017
in its school premises. Experts were from Kharagpur powered by Wingfotech. The Workshop was on
Autonomous Robotics, which started from the history of Robotics and covered Introduction to Robotics, Robotics
and its application, Definition of the Robots, Future of Robotics, Basic Parts to build a robot, Mechanical
Structure, Power Supply, Sensor, Motors (DC Motors): Construction & Characteristics, etc.
The workshop started by welcoming the participants with the traditional Tilak and khada. The participants were
divided into 20 groups for the competition. Each group consisted of 5 members.
The workshop began at 10.00 AM. on 23 rd December, 2017 in a systematic way. The experts explained in detail
the theoretical concept of Robotics during the 1 st half of the very first day. The participants were given various
types of equipments to make Robots during the 2 nd half of the first day. The participants started to assemble the
different parts of the Robots, but they could not complete the programming of the Robots on that day within the
stipulated period. They continued the workshop on the following day.
The workshop again started at 10.00 AM. on 24 th December, 2017. The participants completed their programming
with the help of the experts and they presented their Robots group wise. The experts selected three groups for 1 st ,
2 nd & 3 rd position according to their performance. Moreover the winners got an opportunity to participate in
National Level Championship on Robotics at IIT Kharagpur. The working ended with the certificate distribution
by the experts and thankful note by the Directors.
Our school conducted this technical workshop to enrich the students. Students learned about the Robots and
assemble procedure of parts through this workshop. Students were encouraged to try their hand at assembling and
modeling of Robots. It was a creative approach to the learning of science through real life exposure, mechanical
innovation and hands on projects on Robots. Students were appreciated a lot by the experts.
The workshop concluded with full satisfaction for both the Students as well as the Experts.
