INTER SECTION ELOCUTION COMPETITION 'Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones. The Literary Club of the Olivia Enlightened English School organized an Inter Section English Recitation Competition on International Student Day for classes VI-IX on 17 th November,2017 in the school premises (Activity Room) with great zeal and enthusiasm. It is such platforms which can help the students learn the language in an easy way. All the finalists who participated in the competition came prepared with different poems of their choice and put up a commendable performance. INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION A Quiz is a form of game or mind sport. In which the player (as individuals or in team) attempt to answer (questions) correctly. It is a game to test the knowledge of the students about a certain subject in most equaling countries. A Quiz is also a brief assessment used in education and similar fields to measure growth in knowledge, ability and skills. Olivia Enlightened English School organized an Inter House Science Quiz competition for classes VI- IX (Classes VI-VIII Group - C & Class IX Group D) on 23 rd November, 2017.The Anchor as well as Quiz Master of the Competition was Mr. Prashant Ghatani, the Score Writer was Mr.Sujit Sharma, the Time Keeper was Mr. Sandip Debnath & the question maker in soft copy was Mr.Sourav Deb. According to the mode of the competition the finalists were selected House wise. There are four houses in the school (Netaji House, Vivekanda House, Tagore House & Teresa House). So according to the House the finalist were selected from each House as well as each section only one from the mentioned classes distinctively. BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION Best out of Waste is one of the most enjoyable crafts in which children can be engaged with great zeal. With the help of this activity students are encouraged to show their latent talents and skills. It inspires children to think and work creatively and promotes artistic excellence. An Inter Section Best out of Waste competition was organised by the Olivia Enlightened English School for classes VI, IX and XI on 27 th November, 2017.The Competition was held on different topics (Craft work) for the mentioned classes. Children participated earnestly in the competition. They came up with amazing ideas using waste materials. A variety of waste materials like broken bottles, broken bangles, coconut shells, ice- cream sticks, plastic bags etc. were used to create goods like Pen stands, Dolls, Cups & Plates, Flower baskets, Vanity bags etc. by the children. The Art Teacher Mr. Dinesh Rai judged them on Creativity, Innovation and Presentation.
